  • As a project to specialize the program of "EMEC activation for 119 training of Jeju residents according to designation of Jeju as free international city," EMEC was opened on the 3rd of July 2001 with 1 lecture hall of 34.5 pyeong in area in Dept. of Emergency Medical Technology on level 3 in medical school building of Cheju Halla College.

  • Professor Kim Tae-min, the director of EMEC visited State University of New York, Stony Brook on the 30th of July 2004 to discuss with Dr. Henry, the chief of Dept. of Emergency Medicine in SUNY Stony Brook on the subject of exchange between Cheju Halla College and SUNY Stony Brook.

  • Professor Edward Stapleton from Dept. of Emergency Medicine in SUNY Stony Brook visited Cheju Halla College on the 30th of May 2005 for discussion on exchange between the two schools.

  • Professor Kim Tae-min, the director of EMEC visited SUNY Stony Brook on the 30th of July 2005 for discussion on student and faculty exchange program.

  • Professor Christopher Lee from Dept. of Emergency Medicine of SUNY Stony Brook visited Cheju Halla College on the 18th of November 2005 for discussion on exchange between the two schools.

  • On the 10th of January 2006, vice president Kim Seong-hun of Cheju Halla College and professor Kim Tae-min of EMEC concluded MOU on joint opening of Halla/ Stony Brook EMEC and execution of educational programs with Dr. Henry, the head professor in Dept. of Emergency Medicine of SUNY Stony Brook.

  • Halla/ Stony Brook EMEC of the international standard educational program was opened on the 21st of April 2006 with the scale of 412.76 pyeong to include the main lecture theater to seat 454 persons, 3 simulation centers, offices, adjustment center and offices for foreign professors.
